There are “three poisons” in Buddhism, which cause endless troubles and problems in life. One of them is “greed”.
This refers to the desire and love for beautiful things. There are all kinds of “greed” in the world, such as gluttony, greed for fun, greed for fame and fortune, greed for money, greed for sexual desire…
To understand the “mind” is to use wisdom to illuminate the ignorant heart, or the enlightened wisdom heart, so as to dissolve the troubles of the world. To see “nature” is to see the habits of past lives, such as greed, hatred, competition, comparison, attachment, fear, and ignorance. These are not the essence of the soul, but have gradually become some bad habits and habitual thinking through continuous exposure to the environment.
