What is “knowing one’s mind and one’s nature”?

To understand the “mind” is to use wisdom to illuminate the ignorant heart, or the enlightened wisdom heart, so as to dissolve the troubles of the world. To see “nature” is to see the habits of past lives, such as greed, hatred, competition, comparison, attachment, fear, and ignorance. These are not the essence of the soul, but have gradually become some bad habits and habitual thinking through continuous exposure to the environment.

To achieve “clear mind and nature”, you must first understand your own heart and every moment. From the insight into every thought that arises or every action you take, you must understand that only “awareness” is the unchanging essence.

In Buddhist scriptures, it is said that our mind is like a mirror. If the mirror is bright, it can reflect all things. But if the mirror is obscured by troubles like dust and sand, it cannot reflect the real things. These “dusts” seem to come from the outside, such as various karma and unsatisfactory events encountered in life. But in fact, others are a magnifying glass that reflects your own heart, allowing you to find that you have encountered this situation, had this mood, and held these beliefs before/now/in the future.

“Dust” never comes with the wind, but always accumulates on your own mirror, and you don’t know that you have troubles, or even don’t want to admit and deal with these problems.

When we make up our minds to clean up our own “dust”, the mirror will gradually become brighter. at this time. Only then can we have enough light to share with others, and even become a guiding light.
